About us

Katya Henry is a Master of IT student (Library and Information Science) at Queensland University of Technology, Brisbane, Australia. She is passionate about the role of libraries as creative, collaborative community hubs. She also has a thing for open data.

Kate Davis is a Lecturer in Library and Information Science at Queensland University of Technology. She has worked in academic and public libraries and at the National Library of Australia. She is a self-confessed gadget girl who loves to play with technology. Kate is currently undertaking her PhD with a program of research designed to explore the information experiences of new mothers in social media spaces.

Katya recently completed a research project based on the gamification of a MIT(LIS) unit at QUT, Information Programs, devised and taught by Kate Davis. Together they decided to do something different this year at ALIA Information Online 2013. They’re going to gamify the conference!
